Hello,

February marks a turning point for me as I dive back into the world of blogging. Its been 8 years since I wrote my last post and wow… blogging has changed so much I had to (re)learn everything back! It’s great to be back though, with a new approach and different vision on what I want to share with you. I hope you find value in my notes and thoughts—and maybe even some inspiration.

That said, here are the footnotes I wrote on my real Frameless Notebook this February.

On Personal

I finally finished the Silo sci-fi book series

And it was a great read. Silo is a well-rounded, immersive story that engages the reader in following the life of one and the many. It’s packed with intrigue and suspense—perfect for those who enjoy a mix of mystery and sci-fi.

It took me one year to get through the 3 books, with other readings in between. Still, my favorite one was the 2nd, Silo: Origins. Which dives deep into world-building by explaining the origins of the 1st book.

I’ll keep reading sci-fi but moving on to the classics. I plan to start the Azimov’s series this summer.

Funny how we’re getting closer and closer to living in a sci-fi world with everything happening today, right?

Experiencing a TEDx event is nothing like watching it on Youtube

This month, I attended a TEDx event in Paris this month for the very first time, and it was very interesting. From independent journalism to biotechnology, storytelling and philosophy, all the speakers were very good on their fields and delivered compelling talks. I learned a bit, got inspired by some and left with a taste of… ‘I’m exhausted…’ But in a good way—it sparked new tasks on both my To-Do and Networking lists.

I want to highlight the TOP 3 speakers (French) from my perspective. You have the entire list here.

Too much noise from the media

How are you experiencing the media platforms these days? For me, it has been a nightmare. Even with filters, ad blockers and other tools, I’m getting too much noise everywhere.

Studying AI business cases is nearly impossible as the same discussion get back to the table every other day. The same goes for following consumer trends, the gaming and entertainment industries, and other topics. Even my favorite analysts and bloggers have been redundant.

News today isn’t really news—just recycled information, rewritten differently but offering little new insight.

Is this a longterm trend?

New inspirations from the IIBA community

I’m part of the IIBA global community, and if you don’t know what that is, I invite to check out their webinars on their YT channel: https://www.youtube.com/@iiba

In February, I attended the 1st part of an exclusive webinar series on Data Governance Organizational Change Management. It’s a complex topic that demands a great deal of energy and wisdom to navigate the various scenarios that can arise in stakeholder management.

It got me thinking on how I work with my stakeholders, on how I understand their challenges, foster collaboration and help them thrive among their peers. Each case study shared by the expert made me reflect on my own experiences, best practices and areas for improvements which led me to:

I’m reflecting on my work approach

Yes, I’m an experienced business analyst, but I feel the need to improve the way of working—especially in a VUCA world where, ironically, human behavior becomes quite predictable once you understand it well enough.

So far, I’ve been studying storytelling, and applying it to my work deliverables with the intention to increase stakeholders engagement, while providing clarity on the topic of discussion. My conclusion is that this is not enough!

I need to complement this with an understanding of psychology and neuroscience. Because humans engage with stories differently (so obvious now that I’m writing about it!), which means that working on stakeholder dynamics is also part of effective storytelling.

I hope to bring more details on this later on, but for now, its time to get back studying!

And how about your February? Did you start something new? Learn anything different?
